Jarrettsville Garage
The owners of this garage are avid racing enthusiasts and collect racing motorcars. They desired a place to work on their motor pool and store the cars, in addition to wanting to add some living space to their existing home. Van Deusen Construction Company, Inc. designed a four-car garage with a second story library and adjacent spare bedroom and storage space to meet all their needs. The garage is two bays deep by four bays wide. The last bay features a 20-foot ceiling so that the owners may work on cars on a bay lift. The bay area is accented by two dormer windows. Custom-dyed concrete accents the floor of the garage and effectively camouflages any oil that may spill. A beautiful oak stairway provides access to the second floor with a balcony area over the garage.
In order to successfully meld the garage addition into the existing home, the entire home was re-sided with Wolverine brand beaded-edge siding and fitted with new windows. Hickory blend stone provides a beautiful accent to the first floor exterior and composes a retaining wall along the drive area.
