Contemporary-Style
The owners of this contemporary-style home in Glyndon contemplated an addition for years before deciding to move forward with their extensive plans. Adding over 1800 square feet to their existing home, they were able to gain a new master bedroom and bath, entryway, family room, garage and separate full bath.
The dramatic new space is now reflective of their tastes and caters to every modern convenience. The enormous 600-square foot family room in the rear of the home flows easily from the former family room and is flooded with light from the Andersen Casement windows and Frenchwood sliding doors. The new master suite enjoys views from both the front and rear of the home and boasts a spacious master bath with double vanity. Flanked by Butler stone and trapezoid windows, the soaring new entrance highlights a new front door fabricated by the owners. The new garage, bathroom and utility area combines convenience with functionality. When dormers were added to the third floor to create a guest bedroom, the homeowners even gained additional attic storage and a play space for their chil dren above.
Faced with a sloping landscape that required special grading and the advice of a landscape engineer, the multi-level addition proved to be an extensive project. Van Deusen Construction was able to satisfy the owners’ desire for maximum square footage, while also incorporating the contemporary design elements that would complement the existing structure.
